S40 immobilser problems

Hi all, strange problem with my volvo s40, everything running ok but yesterday when I started the engine the immobiliser light stayed on on the dash when the engine was running, also interior lights, radio not working and the 'open door' light on the dash still illuminated. Immobiliser doesn't appear to be working when engine switched off, no LED light on dash? This doesn't seem to have affected the running of the car though, any suggestions?
