Just wrapped up my cousin's manual swap last night. Took it for a few drives around my neighborhood and it runs and drives great! Just waiting on the manual swap tune from Hilton and it'll be good to go. We're also going to bleed the clutch again today as well as the brakes just for good measure, and it should be done.

Can you make a list of all the parts you needed for the swap?

Definitely, I'll compile a list of everything from the donor car and to buy new. Now that I have two swaps under my belt, I think I can remember everything with a little help from receipts!

Good old Falu Rödfärg. Even here in the UK numerous parts of my property have been coated in the stuff, thanks to a Swedish fiance (from Falun, actually!).

Is it easy to get hold of in the UK? Must stand out quite a bit?

Can get fakes, right colour but wrong chemical composition. Said fakes are very expensive, as far as paint goes. We bravely brought some
tins of the proper stuff back in a suitcase last year. It doesn't stand out too much actually, looks fairly normal - there are so many different colours in the UK that it's hard to actually stand out.

I personally prefer the yellow-shade in Sweden, though can't for the life of me recall what it's proper name is.

Picked up a ‘98 GLT over Thanksgiving and have been sorting out some issues. Most notably, a few weeks ago... an ABS module from Midwest-ABS, which lead to a ABS wire troubleshoot, and a successful solder. And then today I rebuilt and installed a junkyard pnp switch, reverse lights work once again. It’s my Christmas Miracle!
