Engine running temps very wide range, normal?

Some of the genuine Volvo thermostats are stamped Volvo on the bottom, Wahler on the top.

If the Wahler fails, next try a Stant or a Gates.

Yeah, my failed t stat had Volvo on the bottom, but design was entirely different from the Wahler replacement. They could still make the Volvo ones, though. Thanks for advice. Problem solved!

Wow, interesting. You would think that the genuine Volvo part would be best, but I guess that isn't the case with the thermostat!

Volvo probably buys from whoever makes the most financial sense at the time I bet. If one company cant fulfill the order, they go to the next.
