Removing RH muffler AWD

I have a 98 V70 AWD, it has the dual mufflers on the back, where it goes into the left one, then out across the car to the right muffler which has the exhaust tip on it. Has anybody removed the right hand muffler and put a straight pipe in its place? Does it sound good? I have a 00 V70R dual exhaust system as well, I have heard they are louder than the single setup, but I wont get around to installing that until at least spring time.

OE AWD duel muffler systems are now NA last time I checked so they are the proverbial rocking horse droppings. I have a 00 R with an system from Eurosport. It is crap supposedly stainless steel that has now rusted through on the top of the left muffler. It is not noisy but ok. I will get a custom system made in real T304 stainless.

Not sure the duel system actually does anything over a big bore system
