2005 V50 2.4i Fuel pressure

Post by GabeE »

Hi guys, new to this but in serious need of some help. I can't find wiring diagrams online for my car. It was driving fine with no issues and the engine light came on P0190. I have resolved this issue (Faulty fuel pressure sensor) in the past by monitoring the data compared to mechanical fuel test ruling out the sensors bad. I left it and drove on another few days until suddenly a no start symptom, I checked and same code I need a Volvo guy to tell me whether or not the sensor can cause this, the fuel pump does not turn on and the rail has absolutely nothing in it for pressure can this be caused by the faulty sensor or should I be looking elsewhere? Thanks

It is the same one for the 2005 S40. Google "Volvo TP3978202".

P0190 means the ECM does not hear the Fuel Pressure sensor.
Possible source
  • Contact resistance, oxidation or poor contact in connectors or connections.
    Open circuit on signal cable.
    Damaged fuel pressure sensor.

Thanks, still unable to access a diagram. I spent the night trying to work through some things. I have verified fuel pump fuse is good as well as the fuel pump relay in CEM. My control module is located under the seat and my car does NOT have an access panel to fuel pump which is a big pain. So essentially narrowed it down to FPCM or a faulty pump. Yes I’ve tried tapping the rank in attempt to get pump going. Any information you guys can provide to help or diagrams etc you can attach would be appreciated.

You can try to power the fuel pump directly through the PEM harness (the black box under the rear seat) and see if the fuel pump is running there should be 5 wires on that harness last two should be power snd ground to the fuel pump i believe red and black should be ground and the green and yellow should be positive if the pump runs try changing out the black box PEM
