XC rear wiper - a very basic question Topic is solved

How have you wagon people handled rear wiper replacement? It's such a simple thing - buy a replacement and pop it on. I found a set of Michelin blades, put on the fronts, and the rear is a special, plastic, volvo-shaped arm which will look goofy with your normal replacement wiper arm.

I tried to buy the rubber blade refill and no auto parts places carry them anymore.

I searched around and sure enough, it's a Volvo part supplied by Bosch. FCP has them for $15-ish so I ordered one.

This is the parts diagram for an '04 wagon. Mine does not have this standard issue metal arm with the hooked end which connects to a basic replacement blade.

It looks like this and is a form-fitted piece with the main arm.

I bought the Bosch blade. It's not the actual OE though they look slightly different.

I buy a cheap 12 inch generic blade and take the rubber insert out , then mount it in the Volvo arm

I learned to do this thanks to BMW where the formed arm rear blade is about $50

Well, perfect would be to re-blade the empty arm and sell it used, along with 4 liters of used engine oil, but its near perfect.
