I just purchased a used 2004 XC70 (only 86k miles:). Everything is in fantastic shape but was thinking I might replace the stereo unit (Hu-613). Ive done the GROM unit in my 04 V70 (247k) but if Im spending a few hundred dollars I was wondering if anyone has had success with any particular Apple Carplay units(s). I wont do it if it doesnt look good in its fitment.
Recommendations, success stories, tales of woe appreciated.

I'm old fart enough to not trust any substantial part of my life to any always-online device, but Kenwood DDX6705S is doing great in my XC70. It has that smartphone integration you need, however it is all done via the only one USB cable. If smartphone apps on 2DIN display would be must have for me, I'd go with a newer/feature richer Kenwood model.
I personally like Kenwood for a decent look&feel, sound quality and that it plays videos to rear seat entertainment monitors in headrests for my kids, so they are kept neutralized on a long trips.
