2005 xc70, gremlins in the taillights

Post by mrscullini »

got some electrical gremlins in my wife's car. we seem to be loosing the taillights. at the same time we loose the front and rear fog lights. the headlights, brake lights and reverse lights continue to work the fuse is ok.

it seems shutting off and restarting solves the issue, at least temporarily.

any thoughts??

I had trouble with the fuses in my Rear Electronics Module (REM) in my 2005 - it behind a trim cover on left side in trunk area.

Fuse 5 or 6 would corrode and knock out the taillights

I wrote it up in a thread, which you can find a link in my maintenance log below - 2005 CATHERINE V70 is the title

Light Switch Module (LSM) and Central Electronics Module (CEM) are the only two things common to all three.

thanks. pulled fuse 5 as abscate suggested. mine looked worse than his.

didn't have the correct amperage to replace, cleaned with sand paper and reinstalled. we'll monitor and see what happens.

thanks abscate!
