When this subject comes up people mention various things they do during a spark plug change whether it's entirely germane to the original question or not.
That's OK with me.

My "addition": Because I freak when the spark plugs screech and howl while being turned out I carefully send a few drops of oil down the well. I then work the plug CW-CCW so the lube works its way down the threads.
After a few complete turns I use a hunka plastic pipe with a rag on it to collect some of the oil and any bits which my blow-out may have missed.
Given the aluminum threads I don't care if I'm being overly cautious.
