We went through that - different phases at different ages. Now they pop in fairly regularly to visit the animals or chat or eat or borrow tools or play board games. My wife warns me to not over-hover and let them do their thing. "Stop asking him about his classesl!"

I had six magical girls who turned into small adults at age 12, and then were the joy of joys. We had drama with only one, for about 6 months in the 7th grade. It ended one day on the way to school when she turned to Mom and said "Wow, the last six months really sucked" and then never again.
They still check in regularly, I am still adjusting to the empty boat, still afloat on its Estrogen Sea. 5 over the oceans,and one more in college in last semester.

It has been a great experience to be part of this site. My memory is that the first time I contributed anything was on September 2005, soon after buying our 850. The airpump had seized up due to a stuck-open check valve, setting a check engine light. I remember looking up information on the source of the problem and how to repair it on matthewsvolvosite.com and many other Volvo related websites. The camraderie and spirit of sharing information on matthewsvolvosite.com made an impression on me and I decided to document the repair and share it with others... This post is located here:
