Hello ! I am so thankful for this forum.
To make a long story short:
3/23/05: Check engine light on: Found ECM 2110 Oxygen sensor
Replace oxygen sensor
5/15/06 : Car is stuttering when stopped at lights : no codes found cleaned throttle housing updated software campaign 155 25-149A-F
Summer of 2007 I had something done but can not find the receipt.
1/22/08 : ETS light comes on and goes off, comes on and goes off. The car also Kicked when accelerating
checked voltage at break out box, ok, clean connectors
ECM code : 9150, cleaned throttle, download TNN-25-149F
1/24/08 The car goes back tomorrow, the ETS light is on again.
My car has been great otherwise. After having the dealer tell me that the ETS light issue would be covered under Volvo extented warranty on these parts, I decided to look into it. I guess now I can get my money back. Hopefully. And, it scares me that this is a problem and that Volvo does not seem to want to handle it in an effective manner.
1. Why did the car needed to be "upgraded/updated" with the same software again : 25-149A-f and then 25-149F?
2. I do not have time to drive 25 miles to the dealer for something that should be professional handled and repaied. Is this common? Going back again and again until the magic code comes up? And, they they replace it.
3. Is there something that I should say or do to make this situation better? The dealer will not lend me a loaner b/c I bought my car from somewhere else. so I need this to be fixed properly the first time. I wish that I could bill them $108.00 a hour for my time.
Thanks in advance. Any suggestions would be helpful.
The car has 96K on it.

I took my car back today and I was ready for a fight. But, all went well. I am very pleased with Volvoville in Amityville, NY. Roz the Service advisor was great.
The car gave the same code 9150. I can not find what ECM Fault code 9150 means? Does anyone know? The ECM was replaced and the software done again, along with a gasket.
I paid for a new O2 sensor awhile back. Is that also covered under the "recall"?
Anyone???

02 sensors are not.
Let us know how things are after your second replacement.

Why do you say "after my second replacement?" O2 or ECM? Is this common?

What I meant was your ECM (or ETM). However, I misread your original post and was thinking that you had the ETM replaced once already. Apparently that's not the case...they cleaned and did the upgrade and NOW you're getting the ETM replaced, so I should re-write my post above to ask you to keep us updated how things go after the ETM replacement.
And...I really doubt that your 02 is out again. These rarely fail (or do at or after about 100K miles). The ETM itself could be giving your 02 a false reading as often does vacuum leaks and false reading from the MAF sensor as well.
Hopefully this will be the only ETM and/or related issues you will have.

Thank you for your help. I hope that the ETM replacement will fix this problem once and for all.
It does make me SO MAD that after looking back at my record the housing was cleaned 3x and the software was updated 4x. All of these were done within the timeframe of when Volvo knew that there was a problem.
I need to push for Volvo to take responsibility for the O2 sensor. Being a layman here I am assuming that since the fault code was ECM 2110. ECM seemed to be the problem. But, I am still learning about the whole problem.
Thanx again!
