Re: Impossible to find 240 center caps
I want to cry, the one you found on eBay has been sold. That's the only one that fits my wheel. I can't even figure out how to reach the guy as I'm new to eBay and just registered. I thought I had a previous account.

That one doesn't fit. I shared too much info on this page and someone grabbed it up from me. The only one that was the correct center cap was found by Rick. I'm so sad. I should have just paid what they were asking. I probably will never find another one. ;(

When dealing with something that rare, one must seize any opportunity. It would not surprise me if that is what one of the readers here did.
The closest plan B, I can come up with is: Find some chrome universal caps that fit and kind of look like the originals then apply the sticker 283092S.

Thank you for trying to help me out, I am most appreciative; those don't fit as they're for VW & BMW wheels. My center caps are a precise fit. Plus, the wheels on it aren't original from its manufactured date in 1979. The original owner changed them out before I bought this car in 1981 (he made sure I knew he spent $250 per wheel). They're much nicer than the original ones. Most Volvo wheels don't even fit it I'm finding out; it must be Volvo part no. 283092.

I'm sure that's what happened; had I not been working long hours in production, I too would have seized the moment. I now have an eBay account, which I didn't earlier. Thnx for your other suggestion as a last resort. I'm still determined to find these 283092 center caps or at least one cap for the missing one.RickHaleParker wrote: ↑18 Jan 2020, 14:24When dealing with something that rare, one must seize any opportunity. Hey Creekybird - I have a full set of NOS caps that I would part with. I'm not active on this forum (just registered today to post this) but have been on turbobricks for a long time and sell on ebay under this user name (100% positive, almost 800 transactions).

Thank you, everyone, for trying to help me. I'm not happy with the person that grabbed this center cap up from me.
I gave out years of valuable info that took me forever to acquire & they ran with it. I'm sure their car doesn't work in television shows; that's a BIG reason why I needed part # 283092 so my '79 Volvo would have no holes in its wheels and all four would have matched on camera.
