After 20-30 minutes ATF temperature raises, viscosity drops, leaks get worse.

Mobil is not the right viscosity, it has cSt@100 7.2, while OE ATF is 7.5 and has a better friction additives package. Shifts with Mobil are more harsh. You may try to cure it with HFM since you've got two boxes...

Installing additional oil cooler is a very basic job. Get Hayden Rapid-Cool of your choice and aluminium angles and bolts/nuts in Home Depot. Here's my frame for the cooler that mounts onto A/C radiator (it has mount holes):

Wise to install a 3/8" Magnefine inline transmission filter at the same time.

Nice thread, but did it solve anything? Vtl u r helping people, guess u like theese volvos to be driven more. Appreciate that. Cheers. BTW I have similar problem. Let's hope I will solve the problem and drive this volvo for a long time. Excellent car, not the gearbox

Transmission shifts much smoother when ATF is below like 85 degrees Celsius.

Gearbox is fine. "Lifetime ATF" is not. Flush it every 30k miles and it will run north of 200k miles with no issues.
