06-XC70 Delay And Jerks From P to D

Post by Xc70V »

I have a 2006 XC70, 64,000 miles. Lately there is a delay and then it jerks when shifting from P to Drive only after the car has warmed up after a 30-minute drive. It doesn’t do this when the car is cold. At first I checked the transmission fluid and it was low and dirty. I then drained the sump and about 2.5 litres came out and then I added around 3.3 litres. Problem wasn’t fixed and the fluid became dirty again (got mixed with most of the old fluid that was still inside). Thinking to do the full flush, but read that might make it worse since my transmission is already acting up or, drain and fill it again a couple more times even though I’m not sure this will help since the problem is already there. I’d appreciate any suggestions or advice. Thx.

2 or 3 more drain and fills with a few miles between each would be on my list of things to do before knowing whether your problem is more serious. My money's on a few more fluid swaps being the cure for your problem.
