Did my inner and outer tie rods and sway bar links. I found out that if you take both your end links off other sway bar swings up and makes it pretty difficult to get back on. I also struggled alot with getting the new boot over the inner tie rod.. not sure if I even got it all the way on.. After I got an alignment and the wheels balanced, turns out I have another free alignment within 3 months, so I might do the struts and shocks in April.

Also swapped my coils and Sparkplugs (Bosch and Volvo) which pretty much has this car at stage zero. All that's left is I could probably clean the injectors, and the last bigger project left would be redoing some (or all) of the hard brake lines.

Was in Phoenix and did fluids, filters, spark plugs and repaired an exhaust hanger on the S70. Brought down and swapped in a tail light for them. I only see this car once or twice a year, always surprised how well it drives when I get there.

Replaced the control arms and struts in the S70 yesterday. Fortunately the control arms didn't put up much of a fight and I got it all done in an hour and a half, and it drives great now! Once I do a quick alignment it'll be even better. The Sachs struts are courtesy of my cousin's old V70... one of my favorite junkyard finds. They still look and ride like new. They feel WORLDS better than the crap that was in the car.

All that's left to do now is replace the gear selector bulb and put some fresh gas in it. I may replace the fuel filter and rear shocks, but that depends on how well it runs after some fresh gas and a bottle of Techron. The filter is cheap and easy enough, so I'll probably do it for good measure. I'm really sad I'm not keeping this one, this would make an awesome daily driver! 253k miles and it runs and drives like it has 75k miles.

I believe the GLT should be set to 2 PSI, but I'd have to confirm that.
Yes, the mightyvac I used only has a vacuum gauge on it. I basically wanted to check if the diaphragm was leaking, which it is not. When i applied pressure to the wastegate actuator it moved and held.

This issue just happend recently, so I am thinking it may not be a setting issue. I haven't touched anything turbo related in the 60k that I have had it. The car has over 277k on it. The wastegate actuator DOES look to be very shiny and "new" looking (doesn't look like it has 277k on it), would love to get one of those deals from Ipd and check the base setting.

For now, I think I will just hook the wastegate actuator directly to the port on the turbo and see if it reaches the 2psi setting. I installed a new pierburg TCV and a Bosch Boost sensor.

I drive this car every day a minimum of 80 miles a day, so I will eventually get to the bottom of it :D
Well I made some progress, I adjusted the wastegate actuator rod to compensate for the loose wastegate. It now will not hit boost cut. It will initially spike to about 8 or 9 psi, then levels off to 6 psi. I know the proper fix would be to get a good used exhaust housing, but I am just trying to nurse this car to hit 300k 8)

That looks better! You should have no problem running it like that. A little overshoot like you’re seeing now is perfectly safe.
I’ll have to check one of my spare turbos, that might actually be a normal amount of play (I know, I was surprised when I first discovered that too).

Installed new strut brace... overall went smooth even though I had to jam the passenger side of brace a bit.

Well, I went outside to look at my 2004 V70 that I just bought on friday. It's my first Volvo! I'm taking it for a ~6 hour drive tomorrow to get it home, hoping it will all go smoothly. I love this car so far.

Edit: did the image link wrong at first. Now you can see my V70!
