No diagnostic at this point, apartment mechanic, so can’t really disassemble much, got some stink eyes, checked grounds, and starter wiring, battery went dead, tried jumpbox, same thing, tried new battery, same thing, crank pulley marked and turning, compression seems good, doesn’t seem immobilized, I don’t know, will seek diagnostic and see what comes up... I’ve had (5) 122’s, and 3 v70’ wagons, this is first 21st century, and its over my head, give me a 4 banger and I’m all good, Lol....
Ok, took to Volvo mechanic, trust him good guy, however code cannot be read, interior pops up, windows, lights etc, but engine side of CEM not readable, ugh! Recommends replacing CEM so code can be read, but at 1500 not gonna happen. I am going to pull CEM and use contact cleaner with brush and clean the hell out of connections, see what happens. Also, starter pulling too many amps, needs replaced, and ordered one. Question? Could starter pulling too many amps actually prevent the spark/ start?

I would skip what good guy is suggesting for now, it smells like burnt starter.
Interference from dying starter hides crankshaft position sensor, which ECM uses for timing.

Uh-uh ... sound like a CANbus issue not a CEM issue. I'm not so sure about that guy.
That is the correct path. Checking the CANbus from the CEM to ECM for shorts and opens is in order.

Well the plot thickens, contacted previous owner and CEM was replaced and programmed with new key and ignition and ring. I have new starter, pulled CEM, cleaned and will install tomorrow along with new battery. I used turn signal button search before pulling CEM and said ABS and immobilized, so will continue from there
