Need to replace engine mounts on the 960. One is visibly squished, and the other probably needs to go, too. The car has a shudder between 45 and 55mph, and tires are balanced. Struts need to be replaced, too, but I just haven't gotten around to it. Even if this doesn't get rid of the shudder, 25-year-old mounts need be replaced, probably.
Part #3536226 runs about $125 from Volvo dealers and a little cheaper from IPD. Cheapest place I've found is Tasca, at just under $100 each. People on the 850 subforum seem to say definitely don't go aftermarket on the 850 mounts. Is the sense to only go for Volvo OE on the 960 mounts, too? FCP says the Rein CRP-AVE0126R is OEM, but I haven't see that confirmed anywhere else. When you actually click on the link, on FCP Euro site, it says below the listing "OEM Quality." I suppose I could replace them three or four times and still come out ahead except for the hassle of replacing. Anyone used Rein ?
Secondarily, anyone have the procedure for replacing the engine mounts on the 960? Particularly, where is a good jack point? And any other caveats before doing this?
Thanks

After reading several threads on this, including this one where someone else points out FCP Euro's listing Rein as OEM and wondering the same thing I am: viewtopic.php?t=64940
The general consensus is that you should go with Volvo or be prepared to replace. A couple people saying Lemforder and Hutchison are OK. Another guy posting on a thread saying he uses the cheapest parts he can find and a live-and-learn process. If it fails, he tries something more expensive or switches to OEM.
Hutchison and Lemforder don't make mounts for the 960. So at this point, just wondering if I go with Rein and risk it, and trust FCP's labeling as "OEM Quality" or not...
Googling around, I found some threads on Porsche forums that indicate that Rein did make mounts for some Porsche models, so apparently company does make some decent product or has in the past.

Done engine mounts on my '98 V90 couple years ago , decided to choose " Corteco " brand after reading some forum thread stated that " Corteco " brand was OEM from factory. No issues about using product so far. Used this online references as example : https://www.volvoclub.org.uk/faq/Engine ... esVehicles

Thanks for posting the procedure. Interesting that on the link they say they could not even see the driver side mount from the top. I can see both clearly, but I can see how that back bracket bolt on the drivers side one is going be a booger, because I cannot see it.
