Need help finding a part # for my car

The XC90 proved to be very popular, and very good for Volvo's sales numbers, since its introduction in model year 2003 (North America). P2 platform.

Need help finding a part # for my car

Post by bfry »

2006 XC90 2.5T AWD

VIN YV4CZ592461261457

I need to replace the temperature control unit - however when I pulled mine, the only sticker on the back of the unit was labeld 1331308C. From searches I did, this came up with nothing.

It seems the genreic part number for my car is 8697138? But when I checked with a friend, he said he didn't think that part number supported heated seats which I do have.

Any help appreciated - thank you.

Contact your Volvo dealer w/the VIN . They will give you the correct part # .

Do you mean the Climate Control Module? Why does it need replaced?
This isn't plug and play and is quite expensive.

I hear you - tried doing that - they say they won't give part #'s over the phone and that I have to come in and get "the problem" diagnosed for whatever that service fee is.

Yes - I mean the climate control unit. The knob that controls fan speed isn't working. When i turn it, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes it turns the other way, sometimes I will spin and spin it and it only moves one click, etc. Blower at first worked on and off with this happening, now it won't work at all.

So, when googling the problem, I came across several YouTube videos where people had the same exact thing happen to them and they just pulled the unit and replaced it with a new one and the problem was solved. Used ones seem to be ~$90 bucks - the sellers are up front saying that I need to make sure I get the same part# or it will not work.

Thank you.

Check the site as they have different models for the year. Maybe one of the other models or a 2007 - 2005 will have the same panel. Good providence.

With a used part you will have to program software to match your accessory list; it is doubtful that the donor car matches your exactly. Cars aren’t swap and play anymore. You tube videos aren’t useful in this regard.

Yes, as far as I know, the dealer won't or can't re-program the used CCM to your car. Again, these are not plug and play; they are discreetly programmed. Probably the best bet would be to go through XemodeX and get the used unit cloned from your existing unit or have yours repaired there. https://xemodex.com/us/climate-control- ... -services/
I think they have decent turnaround time.
