I've never tried the Thors on an R. I thought I read somewhere (maybe a Jimmy57 quote?) that the Peg's were the only factory wheel that cleared the big calipers.

I have the NA with 15" I think summer tires are 195/65 and I still find it on the rough side - but streets are really poor here. Shocks are new and genuine. With the original shocks it was ridding like a carriage on poor roads

That was something I was going to bring up actually - the shocks on these. I think the spring rate is quite good front & rear, but the front end damping on compression is where the harshness is felt, I feel. The reason I think this is as follows. Factoring in our frost-heaved roads at the moment, when I compare the ride between our AWD V70 and and the V70R (in comfort setting) I have to say that the V70 AWD is noticeably more harsh & abrupt as it hits each bump, hole, crack or heave. In the V70R, if I switch to sport setting the two cars are pretty much neck & neck. Advanced is just way to much like a go-cart with a rigid chassis for me. Changing the damping is really all the 4C is doing.

The rear end damping & spring rates for the V70/AWD I feel are quite good, much more enjoyable than the front.

Seeing that the V70R 4C is so much more comfortable, I've actually been considering taking the shocks out of the front strut assy's on the V70AWD & replacing them with my old, (still good) 4C which came out of the V70R. With no current being fed to them I'd assume they would be in a default type damping mode, or comfort mode/close to it anyhow. My Chinesium Lemforder top mounts are already shot with under 1 years use & I bet maybe 6k miles, so I'll probably do it all at once - see if the 4C with the V70AWD springs etc. fit together.

It'd be a fun project to see if you could use a 12V rheostat of sorts to adjust the 4C damping manually.

The newer Lemforder 3049801 strut mounts have been indeed reported to be bad - the low price was quite suspect
Too bad people leave feedback on Fcp right after installing the parts, without waiting see how they perform in the long term - only one person left a long term feedback https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... 68#reviews

Ina seems the better option for now - hopefully they still stand by their quality https://www.fcpeuro.com/Volvo-parts/S60/Strut-Mounts

My car rides like an old school Buick. Too soft for me - time for shocks.

The 17" summers and 16" snows both seem fine.

Antlias were on my first V70. They're somewhat delicate and graceful looking.

I like the 15s on my V70. I don't need low profile tires to drive over potholes and now I don't have to replace bent rims :)
