Mechanic in SF Bay Area to do a timing belt?

I need to do a timing belt swap with all the fixins on my 2000 S70, and wondering if someone happens to know someone in the SF Bay Area who would want the job? Doesn't have to be a pro as long as they're good. Will travel a bit if needed.

My brother uses a small shop in Santa Rosa that specialises in Volvos as I understand it. Not sure if that is too far out for you?

If not, I'll get a name for you. They work on his 850 when it needs anything.

LoL. He has threatened that on occasion, but then he'd have to feed me and put up with me. There is a downside to many things in life!!

Actually he could do (and does do) a lot of the work himself but just has no where to work on it as his apartment complex does not allow you to work on your vehicle in the parking lot.

There should be laws about this.

BTW last time I was in Berkeley in JAN a well regarded VW shop there had a posted labour rate of $180/hour. 6 week backlog.

20 years ago in Berkeley i was paying $90/hour for the trusted Toyota shop (Autometrics, San Pablo avenue). My friends had Volvos they paid more, I didn't ask. It was also on san Pablo a bit further north in Albany, I don't recall the name.

EDIT: It was absolutely Dana Meyer Auto Care, 660 San Pablo Ave, Albany, CA. The family was already 20 years deep in Volvo ownership and it was the only place they would take their cars, they brought them over from across the bay.

$160/hr is standard in the Bay area. It is insane.
