Belt Tensioner 2007 XC 90 V8 4.4
Have replaced Serpentine Belt Idler pulley then broke nut off Tensioner so I've replaced with a new one Tensioner. Cannot get the belt on. Am putting it on the last smooth Pulley last like it said in all forums but belt still will not go on pulley. Rechecked belt to make sure was correct one. Am stuck. Any help or tips I my be missing?

New tensioner if OE comes with a bracket preinstalled (apologies if this is already known) so it's "locked".
Tensioner is close to tight already with the bracket on, if you're also close to getting the belt on you can try a longer than normal 6-point and tighten enough (it'll be slight) to get the bracket off while you slip the belt on the idler, that should work. Nice and easy, super slow is the operative word. And keep that bracket around, it's invaluable anytime you're doing the belt.
Is this the belt OE? Was some mention about Gates being a tad small.
Decent procedure for doing the belt in this post- viewtopic.php?f=10&t=92975#p532900
