There you go, had several heads done this way, but not with a fancy oven like that. Regular backyard bbq big enough works just fine👍

Just wait till you get to those two bolts that hold the water pipe on the back of the head by the timing belt end. Worst bolts on the entire car! Especially when you put them back in, before you install the head, glue the gasket to the head or pipe with gasket sealer and let it dry. Prepare to cus swear and think about putting a gass soaked rag in the tank filler with a lighter and run.

I did one last year, normally I start the car with fresh water run it fix the leaks if any then drain and refil with coolant. I ran it - ran great, drained the water and the next day after an overnight freeze, when I went to put antifreeze in turns out there is a little corner of the block that doesn't drain, splt the block right across the water pump seal. Car is junk now... Sigh Do not make the same mistake!

@Abscate - know anyone that can get us a ~1" thick steel plate cut to just larger than cylinder head size? I can tear that head down (valves and valve seals) and cook it.

Charcoal or Propane? I usually like charcoal as it gives that tasty flavor. I have no doubt this topic is as controversial as which oil is the best for a P80 =P

I'll check my oven at home. It's gas and may do the 500F. Need to clean it anyways, so no harm there. Downside is the head may smell like burnt smoked food. No licking it... =P
