ViDa install fail(over a month trying)
Ok new to the board but have done lots of research and I’ve tried every possible change I could think of or found a thread helping the next person get vida to install. All to get me no where further than when I first try to install. I’m using a hp pavilion 360 running windows 10 home (64bit). When I check the log file it says World Wide Web publishing not installed, and MSSQL$vida not installed. In my windows features I have iis box checked and is installed as well as the ie11 with the extension enabled... also I’m using the repack iso when trying to install. Someone please help me!?

Which versions of SQL server did you install? I have 2008 R2 installed. Which versions of VC++? I have 2008,2012,2013,and 2015 all installed concurrently.
Reason I ask is I have it installed on mine. It was a pain in the ... to install on windows 10.

Have you tried the repack.iso? It is unknown if it works or not since I do not have the Dice unit yet, but I Managed to install it on a fresh Win10 pro 64 bit this morning. I was able to get to the point of logging in. The instructions here:
viewtopic.php?f=40&t=83834&start=50
The scripts mentioned are inside the iso pack (can’t miss them). Script 1 is setting up the SQL.... before going further I recommend validating this worked, because mine didn’t take the first time... here is how:
Click the start (windows) button... scroll though apps menu to “Microsoft SQL server 2008 R2” —> SQL installation Center —> tools —> installed SQL server feature discovery report
Once the report opens, it will should show 2 VIDA entries...
Continue following instructions..

Note: the repack.iso links are not working, but looking through the entire thread there are links with a magnet URL... this is for torrent software like BitTorrent.
With this repack, literally two files to download. The repack.iso and the 2014bcd2099.exe (name isn’t exact, but you will see it)..
Good luck

My dice unit isn’t here yet to try... but someone had also recommended this vdash software.. looks intriguing and still uses a dice unit. Quick easy download and install.

Hyperlinks are dead. Magnet links are still good but magnet links are not URLs.
One will find the Magnet link and instructions on page #16.

Vida is better for Diagnostics and repair.
Vdash is better for:
1. Software upgrades.
2. Tuning.
3. Control module cloning.
4. Model years 2015 and beyond that do not work with 2014D.
On P1, P2 and SPA/CMA models enabling D5T5 to get the CEM pin maybe to much of a hassle, for them cases there is Yagger's services.
