19yr old seat belts that pop

Been having releasing problems with all seatbelts on my 2001 v70xc getting stuck, and complaints from passengers not being able to get out.Its very annoying but also dangerous.Had the exact same issue with my previous v70t5 ended up buying new from Volvo but after 6months it was also getting stuck.

So ive attempted to fix this a few times with short term success first was too take apart clean and lube..2nd attempt was to replace throw out spring but was expensive hard to find correct spring thats not too tensile, 3rd attempt today was to add a small section of cut off original spring. Now i press the release button and the belt pops up about an inch into the air. Ive done all belts, i think this fix will last.

The front seatbelt casing slides apart where the rear casings are glued. the casings are interchangable, probably glued to prevent kids opening them?.
