Volvo 850 T-5 Starter question

I was having some starter issues and when putting it back together I have this extra strap coming from the battery and I'm not sure where it's supposed to go. Any help is appreciated, Thank you.

If it goes from positive battery terminal it goes to positive terminal on starter.
Previous owner probably just added another b+cable without removing the old one since original one had voltage drop.

I really hope the other end of that is disconnected. It would be good electrical practice to cut that, or tape it off and secure it to something so it doesn’t end up in the fan, or touching the B+ terminal on the starter

This is good practice, I do it when another positive cable is needed.
