Appreciate the assist. I have tried all things and a windowsPE image from the other forum. All the same result. I do not ha e the patience for this computer stuff anymore. I am going to return the unit or I have put it up for a quick sale in the other forum classified under the miscellaneous section if someone wanted to assume the risk.

Thanks again...

Eric

I believe this unit is bad. I installed windows 7 and worked through the drive issues I had with that. Same result code 43.

I am going to request a replacement or full refund.

Thanks

So without Vida even being opened on the computer, and with the dice device plugged into obd2 and the USB port... should the computer be able to recognize the dice unit?

I would think so... Am I wrong?

Thanks

Yes and it will look like the first picture unless you got one of the oddballs that runs as a Com port as in the second picture.
The odd balls require a VIDA that is hacked to work with the odd balls.

Normal:

Odd ball.

Yeah.. this is probably an oddball. I have been in comms with them in China, but fighting a language barrier to some extent, and they wanted to remote into my PC (no thanks), and they have a video, but it is in .tvs format and can’t seem to find a totally free program or converter.

So I have asked for paid shipping and full refund.... if not I will work through amazon. I should have stuck with my initial decision and got the icarsoft because I didn’t want to go through this crap.

Thanks

Replace / change laptop. Vida Dice doesn't really support USB3.0. Works correctly with USB2.0. I used an intermediate USB HUB for a USB3.0 connection.

Try looking in Device Manager, then go to Ports (COM&LPT) You will probably see USB Serial Device (COM 7) or plug in your DiCE and see if it appears by plugging it in and unplugging it and seeing if anything appears or disappears, and see if your computer is registering it, this is what happened with mine but I used chat gpt to help but when I plug my DiCE into my laptop the usb comstatus light is red meaning that the volvo DiCE is getting power but is not binding.
