Needle bearings in oil pan

Hello, need some help from the experts.
Just dropped the oil pan today. Found 3 small needle bearing while washing the pan.
Can anyone please tell me where they came from. Connecting rod? Piston?
Is it time for a new engine???

Its been running rough. A vibration I thought would be the gaskets or plugged pickup tube. I also see oil dripping from the tube that goes into the throttle body.

Can you share a picture of those? I took 2.5T engine apart recently, don't remember any needle bearings.

I would also like some photos - I don't know of any needle bearings - if I recall vtl has serious first hand knowledge due to his rebuild.

There are no needle bearings in that engine or the turbocharger. This is for sure going to require a photo.

Abscate is going with pieces of piston ring or perhaps some bearing swarf...

With the oil pan off one should be able to examine the lower cylinder walls for scoring. Rotate engine and look at the piston skirts. If the rings or the walls are the cause you will see scoring.

From the top, with a camera, you can peak down the spark plug holes while rotating the engine.

For the bearings, with the pan off, you can check for play and if not good, remove the connecting rods for a look.

During it's previous life someone dropped needle bearings down the oil fill tube to be funny.

Yeah, that’s weird - there aren’t any needle bearings in the oil pump, are there?

Thank you all. I just did the oil pan today. All seems to be working. Will check tomorrow for leaks
I took pictures and will post them as soon as I figure out how. There were three 1 cm long. Could they be pins for something?
My thought was the same. Where are there any needle/ roller bearings in the engine?
Still has a vibration so next will be the front right side motor mount.
Bought the Volvo new in Germany 2003.
I did an inspection from underneath, could not find any broken or loose parts.
Thanks for the replies will need help doing the timing belt in the near future.
