Engine had low compression. Rolled engine by hand to set "in time", used cam lock down tool (noticed notches in back side of cams NOT parallel to "head seam") Removed head. Sent to machine shop for valve job... When I get my head/cams/cam cover back... Cams lock tool is off cams, as well as "cam gears" without markings...
My main question is, are the 2 cams identicle? The only different markings I found on the cams, was one is stamped (.3) the other is (.5). Also, what about the notches on the back side of the cams (where you install cam lock tool)? Why werent the notches parallel to "head seam"?
I fully understand the process of "resetting timing" (I've completed a 2001 V70 T5 head R&R)... But that was with my cam gears still on cams with locking tool assembled.
Any help is much appreciated!!
Thanks
Nathan
