Got a code P0026 for the VVT intake solenoid. Bought the cheapest one I could find. "Ultra Power" was the brand. Seems to work fine so far

I managed to screw up a pair of radio/hvac control boards. My volume knob had almost stopped working.
I really need to learn how to solder.

Ok so this turned into a $hit show pretty quick. I went to the pick n pull today for a new ac/radio control panel. Found the correct one for my car which has seat warmer buttons. Part nr on new control panel matches my car.
Swapped it in and nothing. Well almost nothing. The lcd lights up but does not show the logo of the car just blank but litup. Ac and all other buttons does not work. Checked with VIDA and there is a cryptic messsge saying software error or something. From what i read the unit might or might not have to be married to the car.
Worth to note here is that my car is a 2004.5 with premium sound option and donor is a 2005. Didnt check if it was premium or not.
Getting a bit tired of this car to be honest and would love if someone has some ideas how to get ac n radio running again. Thank you.

Hired professional solder help and got the volume button working.
This car is now for sale if anyone is interested. It runs really good.

Sold the car yesterday. It was a fun car to drive, night and day compared to the 2.4i I previously owned.
