There are a lot of stupid scientists. I know two, one stuck in Iowa and one In Albany, while the good ones head off to Cambridge.

I haven't met any stupid rocket surgeons yet.

My cousin has worked with guys who graduated from UTI that are complete idiots.

I found UTI very unpleasant, but thankfully, short-lived.

My comment was driven by years of work in manufacturing and as a consumer of services in general. I have known some graduate engineers who could not solve basic problems. I have used mechanics (only briefly) who cross threaded spark plugs.
Somehow these people get into the work force and cover their mistakes for a while. As someone mentioned, at some point they get fired.

In my experience they get promoted. They will eat shit and the idiots above them do not feel threaten by them.
