Post by mussarahim »

Hi guys,
Hope u all doin good face to the pandemie vírus Covid-19 (may God bless us).

I need a help,
My Volvo XC90 2008 2.5T automatic (Trans)
Giving me an issue on shifting
When i pool the lever gear out of Park to R or D he crank a noise (a hard shift). Than,
The indicator letters on the clock disappear
And if i move to manual mode the car goes straight to a low gears 4th 5th and 6.. seems like he forget 1st 2nd 3rd.
The diagnostic machine says an permanent faulty error (shift solenoid S1 signal missin).
If i activate the solenoid S1 from the machine for 2..3 seconds everything stay fine, soon i move the lever gear from P to R or D the thoubles start all over again .. any help plz ([email protected])

Kind
Regards

DO you have a scan tool that lets you check the Transmission Control Module (TCM)? The gear position sensor needs to be checked.

Check the electrical cable to the TCM for defects, shorts, opens , dirty electrical contacts, loose electrical contacts ... ect.

Thanks for uor attention RickHaleParker

I will start to follow all electrical cables from TCM..
Something i forgot to let know
These issue started when
I took the car to a guy
To make a new boot cover to the level gear
Than the guy made me a lil short boot
And when i was to place the gear level knob
To position P, i haved to make a small effort on the level so he can place P.
2 days on that lil effort exercise and the issue started (stalling noise gear engagement, fail to engage 1st, 2nd e 3td gear and fail to show letters P..R..N..D on clock display).

Thanks anyway
