It can be repaired in DIY.
There is a topic around here on MVS and i just came across it few days ago.

Of course....it can be something simpler like bad connection or bad earth.

Remember....simpler things first! ;)

I left out "not". Yes, do check the ignition switch. Most warning lights that come on in run position II are instantly illuminated when you move key to that position. turn the key very slowly to pos II and then with feather touch move it slightly CW and CCW while watching to see if the warning lights flicker or go off. Ignition switch issues can usually be detected like this.

Amazing that it is on original wires, TBH. How many miles/kms? Bet you might notice a change if you decide to swap them.
About 200.000 miles. It is in overall really good condition, just 2 POs, both took good care of it.

Just a quick update: 2 weeks ago the ABS/Tracs light came on, so I decided to finally install the ignition switch that I had orderer back in March.
As for now, everything seems to be back to normal, even though the old switch didn´t look nearly as bad other ones I had seen on here (Steve had a pretty nasty one, if I remember correctly). The feeling of the new part is alot different, it really feels tighter and newer.

I hope this saga won´t need to be continued.
