Go with used doors - match colors. They should be under $150 a door. Try to get the quarter panel done by a paintless dent shop. Keep looking until you find one that can do it. You can also source used tires to tie you by as you sort the car out - FWD makes perfect height match a non-issue.

Air bags are easy - just pay attention to how it is installed. Do a cross reference on part numbers and years that fit.

For the key - a dealer can do it for you, but it will not be cheap. Try to get two keys at the same time and negotiate. Whether a fob or just a key or combo you have to figure out your price point. Don't go with one key. Other option is to call the prior owner - maybe you get lucky - info can be found on the title or maybe your DMV depending on state. Also if this doesn't work you could try back tracking its final days. A body shop may have the key or even the insurance company that totaled it. Worth your time to look and ask.

Fortunately it’s not the turbo or awd version so I’m not too worried about shifting. I can get a key cut from Volvo for $36 and then order a transponder chip from a locksmith. Since I have vida/dice, I can program it myself

It would be great if you could document your key cloning process and do a write up.

I will. Though it’s more doing what the dealer does with vida/dice, when programming a new key. Download software and tell the immobilizer to take it.

I think you need the subscription service for VIDA as well as the software - that runs about $1500 for three days use.

Investigate before investing more.

2000c70hpt - your response to abscate is exactly the type of information that would help others. A quick write up of your steps, hardware and software requirements and the process will help others navigate exactly what is needed.

Maybe start a new post on the matter. Although most will conclude it is cost prohibitive or beyond their ability it will provide useful information. Thanks

Remember the remote just talks the lock module, the key chip has to talk to both the module and ECM with VIN. Thats the one that I ***think*** has yet to be successfully cloned without a full up VIDA connected to Volvo Server.

Which I have. If that doesn’t work then I have a friend at the dealership that lets me use their vida for diagnostics. Either way it’s still costing me less than if I let the dealer do it

So started working on the 90 today. Pulled the headliner since it needs replacing anyway, changed the passenger rear toerod, since it was bent from getting hit at the wheel. Come to find out, the hit was hard enough to shift the subframe and bend a bolt. So I loosened it up and centered the bolt holes. Will need a 4 wheel alignment for sure, after I get after the front end and tires. First things first though. Get the new key programmed so I can start it, and drive it for tires. Big project for Prof. X. But he'll be road worthy yet.
