identifying left and right headlight wiper motor 30882641 30882642

identifying left and right headlight wiper motor 30882641 30882642

I've got a couple used ones. Is there a way to identify the left and right without plugging them in and operating them? All the pictures I'm finding by searching look the same.

L for left bracket.

Volvo part number 30882641 in the green box, is a left headlight wiper motor. The right counter part is 30882642.
The numbers are easier to read if you wet them and move them around in the light.

I put that up there as an example of markings. I used that one because I have a pair on in my private stock. They are spares for my S40. The 30882641 & 30882642 are for first generation S/V40 X40 platform cars and only the first generation S/V40 (1996-2004) .

There are six different part numbers for the 850.

Type 1 Left without interference suppression 6806149.
Type 1 Right without interference suppression 6806150.

Type 1 Left with interference suppression 6817871.
Type 1 Right with interference suppression 6817872.

Type 2 Left without interference suppression 6817043.
Type 2 Right without interference suppression 6817044.

On a P80 you can convert a left to a right and vice versa by opening the case, shifting the transmission then changing the mounting bracket. Just make dam sure you do not get the gears out of sync when you make the shift. Proceed at you own risk. Getting the gear back in sync is a PITA unless you are one of us that can score high on a spatial relations test.

Can type1 and 2 be identified by the connector? Some have bullets and others have a brown Tyco/Amp JPT.

Some scrubbing turned up the identifying marks. While the marks are pretty clear on the right one, they are stamped a lot lighter on the left one.
