car starts without cam sensor? testing
wanting to test the different sensors on my 2001xc70, i removed the cam sensor on the back of the engine and tried starting and it started...question is should it, is the sensor faulty??.
1981 260 GLE converted to 240 M46 after auto box failure
1987 740t auto converted to M47
1997 V70t5 auto converted to M56

If the ECM cannot detect the camshaft sensor it uses a lookup table. The engine will run but it will not be optimized.darrylrobert wrote: ↑05 Apr 2020, 04:10i removed the cam sensor on the back of the engine and tried starting and it started.
What does your diagnostic scanner say when the camshaft sensor is plugged in?
