What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

The fronts were starting to crack. When I saw how inexpensive the stainless set was I decided to buy it without having looked at any videos on how it is put together. Not much space for sure and my Asian hands are large with a big palm and thick (not fat ) fingers.

Barely any room and you'll need to remove the bracket bolt to provide more room. The (Yellow Line) is the space you have to work with. You'll need to flip over your open end wrench after each small turn on the fine threaded nut. Use a Crowfoot to loosen nut (Green Arrow) on brake line while holding the brake hose end (Red Arrow).

(TIP) If you are sure you have the right hoses cut at each end and hold it with a pair of ViseGrips while loosening the brake line's nut. Use the rubber Bleeder Screw Cap and put over the Brake Line End after disconnecting it. I was going to bleed the entire system so thought I just let it drain.

It’s fine to splice brake lines, just add an inspection protocol to your car maintenance.

Daily for a week.
Weekly for a month
Then every six months

You can also simply monitor the brake fluid reservoir for loss. There should be none.

Errrrr....

Maximum working pressure of an auto brake system is under 2000psi

An SAE union will have a working rating of 5000 psi, and a minimum burst of 20,000 psi

All fine as long as workmanship is to standard.

Looks like most if not all the scratches are in the clear coat. Clear coat can be sanded with 600+ wet and dry. Then a new clear coat applied.
