B5244T3 83mm pistons, 90mm stroke, compression ratio 9.0:1, LPT.
B5234T3 81mm pistons, 90mm stroke, compression ratio 8.5:1, HPT.

Without knowing what the B5234T3 came out of, I would transfer the 2.4l wiring harness to the 2.3l to be sure it is compatible with the rest of the car.

The B5234T3 is a T5 engine, It will run with the LPT and the 2.4L software. Just don't expect it to run like a T5. Use the LPT unless you willing to get the ECM remapped for the HPT or hire Yagger to flash the ECM with the software from a 2003 V70 T5.

With the lower displacement, lower compression, 2.4 software, LPT, the 2.3 will have a little less power the the 2.4. If you just want something for a daily driver, it be OK. One advantage of this setup would be you can run lower octane petrol without knocking. You might even get better fuel economy then you did with the 2.4 because the ECM can run the engine with more timing advance then the 2.4 on the same grade of petrol.

I would not at this time because I do not know what the 2.3 came out of. The 2.3 ECM could be a Bosch Motronic 4.4 or a Bosch ME7. On top of that, a ME7 from another car may need to be married to the CEM. This is a question for Yagger or Doublebug to answer.

You are down to three questions:
1. Is the 2.3 ECM Motronic 4.4 or ME7?
2. Is a ME7 plug and play?
3. If not what will Yagger charge you to synchronize the software?

You are not communicating effectively. For example:
1. Which harness did you use?
2. Which ECM did you use?
3. Information on the donor ECM?
4. What did the 2.3 come out of?

Disconnect battery. Check all your connections. Did you play with any of the modules? I forget their names, but the ones many remove in the black box on passenger side. A number of people have had issues with these not being seated correctly and experiencing your problems.

Communication errors are most likely an improper/incomplete connection. Recheck all work.
