If you short Green and Green wire, also White and White wires on the green DIM connector, you will get all working options again.charlitos1988 wrote: ↑02 Apr 2020, 21:45 without the DIM I can start the car, and drive normally. but here are the "cons":
1. permanent hight light beam.
2. no left or right turn lights
3. windows can't be opened or closed
4. no electric close to the doors.
5. no alarm
6. no close all the car with the key.
for me the WORST are number 1, 2, 3.
specially the WINDOWS thing.
I used to drive with open windows because that's how I learned to drive on my 1983 Volvo 240, no air conditioning. just wind to breath and cool.
also in an emergency could be fatal not being able to open windows.

Neither is Yagger. Look at the menu bar on his web browser in the picture. one of the East Slavic languages.
He is in Belarus previously part of the Soviet Union now independent.
Yagger is showing you where to install two jumpers on the DIM connector to restore some if not all the missing functions.charlitos1988 wrote: ↑13 Apr 2020, 18:32 do you mean I can have for example "opening windows function" without a DIM connected ?
Yagger is showing you how to reroute a communication line.
The first jumper goes in the empty hole he marked with a green line. The other end goes to the green wire directly above it.
The second jumper goes in the empty hole he marked with a white line. The other end goes to the white wire directly above it.
Pull the harness back into the DIM.
Yagger knows his Volvo software and electronics. He is a Volvo Guru meditation.

Carlitotos1998 - I suggest you print out what yagger has so kindly revealed to the forum (I never knew - thank you yagger) and bring it to a shop and have them do the work.
Otherwise have a friend fluent in English translate and explain. If you have any friends that are electricians or electrical engineers the picture yagger provided doesn't need words to understand.
A television repair shop would also be able to do it, but they will have to go to your car and you will have to have the DIM removed. It should not take but a few minutes.

thanks everybody
here we are under full quarantine so no electronics shop, technicians, nothing.
so yesterday I just bought the used DIM from 2001 Xc70 which isn't compatible.
all functions came back except the fuel tank door which is totally dead even before original DIM started to act weird.
so I have to close the tank door manually and keep it close, and then if I go to get gasoline I have to open trunk and open the tank door manually.
