It wouldnt be a new day without a new problem.
Did a compression check yesterday on the cylinders just to see how the engine was overall (while diagnosing a bad turbo). Now I have everything back together and a misfire and code p0306. I guess that means cylinder 6, I think thats the cylinder farthest to the left (driver side). Can someone confirm?
Any problem to swap coil packs and see if the code jumps to a different cylinder to diagnose whether its the coil pack?
p.s. removed and re-seated the coil packs/plugs, no change. There is a definite misfire, I dont think its firing at all...

On an S80 6 cylinder, the cylinder closest to the driver is #6. Try swapping coil packs to see if the problem is the coil pack. Make sure your lead is in the right position (in other words, swap coil packs but the wire leading to the pack should still be for the right cylinder). Report back.
If this is all that's wrong (and possibly a bad turbo) why would you think selling or trading your car is a good idea now? Get it running right or you won't be able to trade it even if you wanted to.

Yea, sorry it is the S80, forgot to put in the year info. I guess I'd have some other serious problem if there was a misfire on cylinder 6 of the 5 cylinder cars
So, I swapped, and the problem followed the coil pack, the #5 isnt firing. Anything I can do to bandaid this, or is it just cooked?
Just frustrated with this thing right now, I knew I was taking a gamble on this car since the 99s seem to be problematic.

If its on the internet, it must be true!

I think you're in for a new coil pack. check out fcpgroton and eeuroparts.com Also eBay. Otherwise, I know the dealer is going to want more than you're willing to pay.

I'm cheap, but I also need a car to drive. There is a well stocked private auto parts store here that may have it tomorrow, otherwise I'll probably have to hit the independant volvo shop I deal with which is about a half hour away or the dealer.
