Update to my Jan 21, 2020 post above after successful install.

I have run multiple times on a 2007 Volvo S60 with NO errors or issues. My DICE unit is working great.

I am waiting for COVID-19 to die out and I have more time to schedule an attempt to purchase a 3 day subscription and program a second key and key fob.

hi thanks for this post.
currently have it running on a netbook (acer aspire one a150 with just 1GB of ram and windows 7 , turned of not needed services from windows to have it boot up faster and feel responsive)

only question i have to RickHaleParker , is there an alternative link for the repack ? (this link returns a 404 error)
i wan't to give a windows 10 /vida install a try on a fixed desktop pc so i know for future use how and what to expect.

Read pages 1,6 & 16. Use the Vida 2014D Repack not the one you got off eBay.

Is this the vida link that is supposed to work? Im getting a google translate error on the first one

The page is missing or never was written. You can wait and
see if it becomes available again, or you can restart your computer.

the second link brings up something im trying to decipher at the moment

I have a windows 7 machine which I believe has IE11 on it in storage even if I dont get the date patched I should be able to adjust the date back a decade if need be

The hyperlinks are dead. Go to page 16 and use the Magnet link as instructed.

No need for all that.
Get the Repack and install it in Windows 10 as instructed on page 6. IE11 is still there in windows 10. You might need to activate it in Programs and features. The 2099 patch is on page 1.

this part of the first post on page 6?

On windows 10
1. Manually install .net framework 3.5.
2. Run scripts 1- 3, in the root directory of VIDA2014D_RePack.iso, one at a time.
3. Run the 2099 patch
4. Run Script 4
. Do not run Script 5
5. Reboot
6. Wait for Java to request a firewall exception.
7. Wait for Vida monitor to turn green.

is kinda what is confusing me the part that looks like a link is clickable but if I click it it opens a link to google translate which gives an error

maybe I'm just dense?

I should mention though that I don't have windows 10 just a few different win 7 computers

You are dense, I say the hyperlinks are dead. The install instructions where written in Feb 2018, the links worked at that time. The magnet link on page 16 is still good but you need to copy and paste it into a BitTorrent client. I posted the Magnet link because the hyperlinks where going dead. I cannot make a Magnet link clickable on phpBB without a bunch of coding. phpBB is MVS forms runs on.

Tell the IT guy to use my Chrome conversion. It will by pass the problems VIDA has with IE11 in Windows 7. IE11 was written for Windows 8. On Windows 7 it is a kludge.

IE11 must still be install to use the Chrome conversion. If you do not use the Chrome conversion, you will need to roll back to IE9. I do not think you can get the IE9 file anymore. The Chrome conversion get around the problems by letting Chrome use just the IE11 rendering engine which contains ActiveX.
