Worked out the logistics of transporting the new subframe assembly home and getting it on the ground, U-Haul with lift gate. How to work out how to raise the S60R to get the subframe assemblies in and out.

Final Drive Axle Ratio
2004 S60R automatic 2.65:1
2006 XC90 V8 automatic 3.33:1.

Make the 200 mile trip to get the B8444S. Got it down to two bolts and then defeated. The to 18MM bolts holding the front of the engine cradle. A 1200 ft-lbs cordless impact would not budge them. A 24" in breaker would just budge them. Planning a second attempt with a 40" 3/4" breaker and a sure grip 18MM socket if I can find some local. Should be a break in the weather Thursday. If that does not pan out, it dead in the water. I need to return the borrowed F150.

Anybody that has gotten these two bolts out ... tips appreciated.

Still trying to figure out why somebody already picked the Exhaust manifolds. It is not like they wear out.

Are these the subframe bolts? Are you dropping the engine down or picking it?

I would torch the hell out of them, 3 minutes with MAPP gas.

Probably the yard that took the exhaust manifolds for the cats. One of the yards here does that, but they just cut them.

They are the engine cradle to subframe bolts.

We removed everything on the front. The plan is down a few inches then straight out the front.

Junk Yard: rules no fire (No torches, no gas power generators).
Too many idiots who would set the yard on fire.

Besides there is rubber between the cradle and the subframe. It would catch fire.

This yard cut off the cats and the driveshaft. I get cutting the cats but the driveshaft which was above the cats? There would be no reason for the yard to remove either manifold from the engine block. Both are gone.

Cutting the driveshaft? Now that’s ridiculous. That’s something that people occasionally need, too.
I don’t know why they would remove the manifolds either, that’s weird.

On the driveshaft, could be the cheap labor did not know any better. I think somebody picked the manifolds. Perhaps they acquired a B8444S and are building some kind of hot rod.

That's definitely possible. I have a hard time believing the yard took the time to remove them properly.

Rick - they may well have a torch there that a yard employee can use to heat something for you.

Or take the whole subframe with engine.
