Got the old exhaust out, a piece of cake since it was broken right being the axle

New Ferrita catback in

And then finally swapped my dash speaker for a working one

I also got a spare Dolby processor off the donor C70, just in case

Finally finished up the V70 today, the owner will be picking it up tomorrow. Hopefully he'll take my advice to replace the bad ignition switch and passenger side CV axle, because it desperately needs both, but otherwise it running very well. It's nice to see the engine from my cousin's old V70 live on in another one!
It could also use a REAL good detail, but I wasn't about to do that.

V70 went home today, and I took advantage of my garage being free again by taking care of the water pump, thermostat, temp gauge sender, timing belt, cam, crank, and aux. shaft seals, accessory belts, transmission mount, shift linkage bushings, and passenger side e-brake cable on the 940. I've had the parts sitting on the shelf for a while, so I'm happy to finally have it all done. Still need to put the e-brake shoes back together and belts back on tomorrow, but everything else is done.
The thermostat was in bad shape, I never would have known since believe it or not, it was working fine. I'm glad I decided to replace it!

Here is the latest Volvo project for the Corona- bored

The turbo Volvo thermostat stabilizes the reading at the ECT at 87C (I think)

what is the coolant temperature at the exit of the radiator left sitting at idle?

Went to replace the thermostat. Had to drill the heads off both bolts, then use a crowbar to get the housings separated. After all that, the studs are completely stuck to boot. Couldn't back it out with the double-nut method, couldn't get it out with molegrips... Have now ordered some stud extractors, but that leaves me stuck for days!

If you cookeh them with a blowtorch for 60 seconds these studs will come out with the molegrip, nice and tight.
