How to lock the camshaft with vacuum pump adaptor.

Post by joseph777 »

I'm doing a teardown in preparation for a valve job on my wife's 2013 S60 T5. I'm using the VIDA for advice, (which I'm discovering is a disappointment). I'm ready to lock the camshafts, and I've removed the vacuum pump off the exhaust side. (VIDA doesn't even show a vacuum pump as an option.) To my surprise I find, what I think is an adaptor on the end of the shaft held on with a T30 screw which I cannot budge. (Plus the camshaft wants to rotate.) How does one remove that to expose the expected notched end of the camshaft? Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.
