Yeah, I think that makes more sense than starting a new thread at this point.

Good deal on all the parts though! I would probably forget about the rear cats, the front ones should be all you need to keep emissions clean. The O2 sensors will read as they should and you won't have any DTCs. Should sound pretty good too! These V8s make some nice noises with a free flowing exhaust system.

Side note:
From the things I'm discovering along the way. It looks like converting my 2005 XC90 T6 from the GM 4T65 AWD to a Aisin TF-80 AWD would not be too difficult. The TCM wiring on the CEM side is the same for all P2s. It stands to reason that Volvo would only use one communication for all TCMs. I'll will know for sure when I get the V8 conversion done. This is something for another project if my 4T65 goes. Anybody else want to take the lead on this one?

That would be a good project too, I'm surprised that hasn't been done. A TF80-SC in a T6 would be pretty solid!

Final Drive Axle Ratio is the same for both transmissions 3.33:1 . No need to mess with the differential.

Waiting for the rain and cold to pass so I can get on with with the swap.

Took the Exhaust manifolds to to a local muffler shop to have the broken flange studs removed. The shop owner told me he was concerned with the back side converter because small pieces of debris fell out as he was working on it.

Took a look with a Endoscope. Can see some damage the question is how much.
Debating whether to roll the dice or work out a plan B.

Did some research on this. A TF80-SC and a 2.9L will not fit between the frame. If it could Volvo would of used the TF80-SC instead of the 4T65 like they did with the XC90 V8.

Volvo had the designed M65 ( compact transverse FWD 6-speed ) from scratch because they could not find a manual transmission compact enough to fit behind a 2.9 in a P2. The space is that tight.

Later XC90 T6s got the TF80-SC but they where paired with a 3.2 which is a SI6 (Short Inline 6) not a Volvo modular engine (White block).

They weren't T6 models, just the regular 3.2. The SI6 3.0 T6 was only available in the XC60, as well as other P3 models. Still paired with the TF80-SC.
