How can I use a combustion leak detector on a 02 S80?

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

How can I use a combustion leak detector on a 02 S80?

I watched some videos and they show people using it at the cap on the top of the radiator. On this car, there doesn't seem to be anything like that.

It looks like there's only the black plastic cap on this container where you add 50/50 coolant. Is that where I'd do this test? It doesn't seem right....

Yes, you do test it there. The plastic expansion tank is an extension of the radiator, so Volvo does not have an overflow tank. Opening the black cap is like opening the cap on a regular radiator, HOT and Under Pressure.

I have the kit and fluid but have not had to use it on the Volvo.

MoVolvos is correct. I have done it via the expansion tank. The kit I rented had a cone shape fitting that wedges into the expansion tank. My car failed due to blown head gasket.

Don't Rev Up Your Engine If You Suspect A Head Gasket .

Not sure which vehicle he is working on but it has an expansion tank like Volvo.

With a $25 deposit you can borrow the kit from Auto Zone. Comes in the red case in SK's video. I forgot to return mine so had to keep it. It was brand new and never used so it turned out anyways as it was cheaper than purchasing it anywhere else.
