Why so wrinkly?

This is a silly question, but I'll ask it. There's a nice 08 V70 for sale with only 90k, but the leather is just terribly wrinkly and dirty, and every P3 I see is like that. Just wondering why that is? Is the leather too soft?

The ones on the market have been abused while some of the real Volvo For Lifers do a better job of cleaning the preserving the leather.

Many Volvos are much worse but can be fixed easily.
