Skid Plate for 2005 2.5t different than all other models?

A mid-size luxury crossover SUV, the Volvo XC90 made its debut in 2002 at the Detroit Motor Show. Recognized for its safety, practicality, and comfort, the XC90 is a popular vehicle around the world. The XC90 proved to be very popular, and very good for Volvo's sales numbers, since its introduction in model year 2003 (North America). P2 platform.

Skid Plate for 2005 2.5t different than all other models?

Post by volvooh »

I bought my 2005 2.5t XC90 for the PO who had no clue where the skid plate was.

I was looking at replacing it, but it appears the 2.5t is different from every other model previous to 2014. The original T6 and 3.2 both use the same, the 2.5T is different.

Question is, does the 2.5T have a different subframe set-up? The pics I saw of both types of skid plates looked identical.

Any one have an idea on this?

Had a minute to check out of my own curiosity:
2.5T cradle PN 31406368, pan 30680968
2.9T cradle PN 31429446, pan 30671144
V8 cradle PN 31277156, pan 8683736
3.2 cradle PN 30776410, pan 30793625

Only thing consistent are the four body bushing mount points I think.
