Not in Texas, but near there. After 10-12 years the clear coat starts to deteriorate. Red colors fade quickly. Do the clear coats go bad in northern states?

Correct, 601 red is single stage. A compound job with M105 or similar will clear that paint right up.

I'm going to check out a s70 that just arrived at junk lot to see about cutting off a donor piece. I have a thread going if anyone has any tips
That's relatively normal. It's probably what has soaked through the IC hoses. As long as you don't have any boost issues, I say go ahead and clean it up and run it!ZionXIX wrote: ↑15 May 2020, 17:01 Got my freon evacuated in preparation for ac compressor replacement. While the freon machine was working, mechanic buddy sid he noticed the radiator leaking due to residue around the top. I glanced at it and decided to replace the radiator too since it was 15yrs old and the brand is unknown. After closer inspection what he was seeing was the top plastic cap of the intercooler. The top cap is soaked in oily dirt residue and Im at a loss to explain how or why. Thoughts? I havent experienced any boost issues. I suppose there could be a leak but I dont know how it could get on the front side too?
