In the third photo I can see the fender liner mounting hole is torn from the plastic nut. This lets the fender liner flap and will rub the wheel when turned to the right.

I popped it out to access the motor mount, it seems to hold pretty tight when I put it back in.

Difficult to see but it looks like the spring end is not seated in the spring perch. If so the spring may not be centered (floating) with the strut and rubbing against the body?

The spring end perch has a spot where the spring end rest. I added a tubing on the spring end just in case the spring end rubs against the perch. The tubing is cut at an angle so it does not hold water and debris.

I was wondering about that, but it looks like I've got it in the chanel? How do these photos look?

The first photo is with the car on the ground wheels straight forward. second photo of the strut mount is with the car jacked and the wheel off

For some background I just replaced my entire front suspension over the last few months with the FCP Sach kit (Sachs struts, Sachs spring seats, Sachs strut mounts) plus new lesjofors springs.
If you have the old strut assembly compare it with your new set up since everything is new. Double check all your part numbers for fitment / correct application and then look at the bottom of the spring sitting properly in the spring perch.

I see the spring spiraling inward on the top and bottom so it seems OK. Do you get an alignment print out of before and after specs? I'll check Volvo's diagram to see if it's possible that something could be bent so the SAI angle is off one side vs the other.

I don't see anything that's obvious. The knuckle can't be bent so if anything is off would the strut or LCA being bent. It would have to be such so the strut is pushed towards inner portions of the fender well.

Hey Mo,

Thanks for looking that up. He's a photo of the alignment I got in March.

And this is the kit I used,
https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... em-vfsk2-s

looking at all the parts according to FCP they are the correct units. Only difference they note is the spring seat is the updated XC90 style.

Springs I used

Tie rod kit

Control arm

I still have the old strut assemblies so I can dig those out

The alignment specs look good. More Caster on the left and more negative Camber right front and rear so the car will still drive straight on the crown of the road. Positive toe front and rear with no thrust angle or steer ahead also promotes driving straight and perform well if the steering wheel is centered. They don't show SAI which helps to diagnosis bent suspension parts but I think your alignment tech would probably say something if he saw that it was off. Specs will also help reduce tire wear. I'll take a look at the parts.

Thanks for that analysis. I'll post back here when I check out the old suspension

After I inspected the motor mount I tried to make sure it was set in straight and torqued well. It seems like the sound is a little more quiet, but it could be a red herring
