A thousand 4T65 rebuilds/repairs observed ... why did you invest that much time in observation?

Since we both have a head we both don't have a problem with rain down our necks unless you choose to let it pour on you. As for the head it's what's inside that counts.

In two post you've used "stupid not too" and "seen it a thousand times". People are here to learn so we are less stupid but we prefer to dialog with people a little smarter than us so we can learn rather than someone who is less stupid like yourself. That's the difference between having a head and something inside of it.

Unfortunately, I don't like umbrellas but I am not less stupid and a little smarter because I will find something to cover my head so the rain does not run down my neck. I hope I answered your question.

This is disturbing to read. I really need help figuring out what i should do with my car and logged on for honest advice and ideas on what i can do to fix it and u guys are on here being rude. go someplace else with that please..

So i have a 2002 volvo s80 turbo that is having tranny issues. It only drives in manual 3rd gear. check engine light is on so i cant smog it. code reader is showing these codes. p0700, p0751, p0756 im trying to figure out what i should do?

I posted my thoughts early on. The 4T65E has design issues. What you describe is consistent with a failed transmission related to the design issues. I think you need a rebuild. Clutch/hub shaft has or is failing is a possibility. Second gear clutch pack is beyond service limit is another possibility (or an additional problem). The other possibility, which is what RickHaleParker cured is failed/failing accumulator valves.

Since you are new to the forum the people here have tried to provide the least expensive and time consuming methods to check a problem which is inherent with this transmission. You'll notice lasseamager is new and was condescending and recommending a tear down besides additional work because he was smarter and have seen it a thousand times. Most people come to learn and not pretend to have the last word.

It rarely happens that people are rude on this Forum but I and perhaps some others here don't appreciate that. Most importantly did not want you to spend a bunch of money, time and discover it was a minor issue. (EDIT $150) plus in parts and your time vs transmission rebuild.

Summary: If you've DIY for sometime, following the videos you might be able to quickly find out if you can take care of the problem without a tear down and get the car Smog. Lived in CA from 71 to 05 so know the head aches of getting a smog done in CA. I suggest you carefully read the entire post and follow the links while avoiding the disturbing parts.

Day after day seven days a week for 8 - 10 years. That what it takes to go through a 1000 transmissions. Life must be dull for you.

Pull the connector on the transmission and clean it. Clear the codes see if they come back. Do the same with the TCM.

Check for shorts and opens in the wiring harness. I doubt both solenoid went at the same time and they do share a common ground. If the high side of the two solenoids that would create an ambiguously that would prevent either from operating.
